WHAT IS IT

THE RULES

  • Open only to children currently in (or entering in 2026) 1st – 6th grade.
  • Children in 1st – 6th grade read ten books (of appropriate ability) and fill out the reading record.
  • One entry per child, multiple or falsified entries will be immediately disqualified.
  • Books must be ready by the child. Reading is verified by a teacher, parent, guardian, or librarian
  • Books may be read from May 1 to the deadline of July 31,2026
  • Fill out form completely, incomplete entries cannot be accepted. The Utah State Fair will not share your information with outside sources.
  • An online form can be filled out and submitted OR children can mail or hand deliver a printed form to the Fair office- Entries must be postmarked on or before the July 31 deadline. – Sorry, no late entries can be accepted.
  • Awards will be mailed out on or before August 22, 2026
  • The Utah State Fair is not responsible for late or misdirected entries, incomplete, or illegible entries.

FAQ’S

QUESTION: I have a child of preschool age who can read, can they participate?
ANSWER: Sorry, the contest is only open to children in 1st – 6th grade.

QUESTION: Should I send in an online entry and mail in a form to be sure you get it?
ANSWER: No, we do not accept multiple entries and your child’s submission may be disqualified.

QUESTION: How will I know you received our entry?
ANSWER: We will send out prizes on or before August 22. If you have not received your child’s prizes by the week of Fair (Sept 10), please call the main office 801-538-8400.

QUESTION: I have 3 children, can I mail all their forms in the same envelope?
ANSWER: Yes!

QUESTION: Can I send my spouse to pick up the drink for my child at the Fair Gift Shop?
ANSWER: No, the child must be present when redeeming all coupons.
