Volunteer as Crew for a balloon –

We’re looking for reliable, committed volunteers to help crew hot air balloons during Balloons & Tunes. This role requires showing up on time and taking direction seriously — pilots depend on their crews.

• Three mornings: Feb 20, 21 & 22
• 7:00 AM pilot briefing at @ 755 Fairway Drive (the old Coral Cliffs Golf Course)
• Assist with setup, inflation, and recovery on fly days

Interested? Contact Jenna Corry at jcorry@kane.utah.gov or call 435-879-1951 to fill out the volunteer form and be assigned a pilot.

Occasional flights may be offered if time and weather allow, but commitment comes first.

Drone Notice – 🎈🚁
Kanab Balloons & Tunes is an FAA-waivered aviation event. Drones are not permitted in the launch area except in the designated drone zone shown on the event map. Drones must land immediately when balloons enter that area.
All drone operators must follow FAA Part 107 rules and maintain a minimum 500-foot buffer from any balloon in flight. Unsafe operations may result in a balloon landing and FAA investigation.
Questions? Drone pilots must check in with the event Air Boss / Waiver Holder before flying. Bryan Hill, basketcasehotair@gmail.com

Welcome to Balloons and Tunes!

Hot Air Balloon Launches will take place at the former Coral Cliffs Golf Course in Kanab each morning at 7:30am (weather permitting). Starting Friday afternoon join us on W 100 North for a one-of-a-kind vendor fair and listen to our great bands followed by a Lantern Festival.

Saturday morning will start us off with another Balloon Launch (weather permitting), a vendor fair throughout the day and into the evening, and to end the day join us on Center Street for a Balloon Glow at 7 pm followed by live bands playing into the night!

Don’t forget, there will be one last Balloon Launch on Sunday morning (weather permitting), so be sure to stay all weekend!

Don’t forget to Stay A Little Longer and play throughout the long weekend. Explore our site for more information and inspiration while you stay and play! Check out one of our preplanned Itineraries .

Worried about the possibility of “Bad Weather”? No need to worry, in the case of “Bad Weather” the event will still go on without a hitch! Each morning balloon launch at the former Coral Cliffs Golf Course will start with a Pilot Weather Report from our Balloonmeister Bryan Hill, as he delivers the news if it is safe to fly. Balloons flying are never guaranteed at an event like this. But there is so much more to do if there is “Bad Weather”. Stay for the entertaining bands, vendors and more! If it is too windy or raining/snowing there will be no lantern launch on Friday night, but there will be a candle stick show from our balloon pilots on Center Street Saturday night (pictured below). Stay the whole weekend for tons of Balloons and Tunes fun! You won’t be disappointed.

***How do we know if Balloons are flying? How do I know if there will be a Balloon Glow? Are Lanterns going to Launch? How do I know?!?***

Go to the Kanab Balloons & Tunes Roundup Facebook Page for updates on the Pilot Briefing at the launch site and updates for other elements of the event throughout the weekend, so go give us a follow and don’t miss a thing!!
